Artist Inspires Celebratory Creativity
Art for kids can be such a treat, especially when our students get to create deliciously imaginative art based upon one of Abrakadoodle's most popular contemporary artists, Wayne Thiebaud. He used bright colors with white backgrounds, which made his creations pop. In fact, Wayne's early work is said to resemble Pop Art because he painted commonly known subject matters, such as desserts, toys and lipstick tubes. His famous cake art featured thick paint swirls to make frosting that tingles taste buds and is intended to be celebratory.

Our students really respond well to Abrakadoodle's Thiebaud lesson. The troop was celebrating a successful year by creating art. In our classes, each child learns about the artist along with simple shapes that connect to make art, Kennedy noted. Avery, a member of the Brownie Troop, said, "I liked it all; it was yummy!"

Preschoolers had a blast creating ceramic fish. You know your mom has something you did in clay from your early days - don't you want to help create those kinds of memories?
