Mort Solberg
Mort Solberg is shown here at the Maryland Waterfowl Festival, where he was honored as the 2002 Featured Master Artist. One of the festival's participants, Emily, is helping Mort put the finishing touches on the watercolor he created for the festival.

Mort Solberg has spent his lifetime developing a unique style of painting that has gained for him national recognition. He paints in oil, acrylic, and watercolor. His techniques range from photo-realism to total abstraction. His most popular artistic style is a combination of abstract backgrounds and realistic images.

Korky Paul
Korky Paul is the award-winning illustrator of more than two dozen books. He was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. At an early age he was reading comic books and scribbling cartoons. He scribbled his way through Durban School of Art and for four years scribbled at an advertising agency in Cape Town, South Africa.

The first book Korky illustrated was Winnie the Witch . It won the Children's Book Award in 1987 and has been published in over 10 languages. Korky has since illustrated more very successful books for Oxford University Press, Random House, Penguin Books and many other publishers.

Three of Korky's picture books have been adapted for CD-ROM: Dragon Poems, Winnie the Witch and The Fish Who Could Wish which won the coveted European Multi-Media Award (EMMA) in 1995. Korky Paul has very quickly become a well-known figure in the children's book world and he is especially popular with the young children who read his books and are carried away into a fantasy world by the illustrations.

Myrna Hoffman
A born artist, inventor, and entrepreneur, Myrna Hoffman was already organizing neighborhood carnivals for charity and earning the first of her many creative awards before the age of 11.

Myrna Hoffman has enjoyed a variety of positions including film animator; free-lance technical artist; interior designer and archeological artist. In 1991, Hoffman founded OOZ & OZ, to produce educational toys based on an obscure ancient art that had intrigued her for decades. "Anamorphosis" - an ingenious optical illusion amusement - uses curved mirrors to re-form morphed images into magical reflections.
