Abrakadoodle Artist in Residence – Leonor Brazao

Leonor Brazao is Abrakadoodle’s artist-in-residence. The Lisbon, Portugal native brings a colorful style evidenced in her vivid acrylics, playful tiles, stylized paper art, creative collage and mixed media creations. She earned a B.S. in Visual Communication from the University of Communication and Arts, Mackenzie University, San Paulo, Brazil. Prior to joining Abrakadoodle in 2005, Leonor has worked as an award-winning Art Director, graphic designer and has conducted fine arts instruction and workshops. She has also devoted time as a volunteer to help promote arts in education and cultural diversity.

Students in Abrakadoodle classes learn Leonor’s modern style as they create collages that incorporate European culture, music and shapes of all kinds. Children also discover such art elements as balance and aesthetics as they gain inspiration from our vibrant artist-in-residence. Leonor has works in several private and public collections to include: Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Germany, New Hampshire, Texas, Massachusetts, Washington, DC, Virginia and Maryland. Brazao's artwork was chosen to be part of a public art permanent installation in Washington DC.
