Abrakadoodle ARTIST OF DISTINCTION
Food Stylist – Lisa Cherkasky

As a food stylist, Lisa Cherkasky is involved in the art of making food look delectable for photographs and displays. You may have enjoyed her artistic styles as depicted in the Washington Post, Time Life Books, Safeway, McCormick Spice and the California Almond Board.
Lisa’s food art projects can take a couple of hours, a day, a few days or even months, depending upon what is involved. For most photo shoots, Lisa does the grocery shopping and cooking, prepares the food for the plate, and then keeps it fresh or replaces items as needed. Food styling is an art form that involves balancing color, developing form, creating something beautiful and unique, as well as solving visual problems while working with your hands. She loves to style salads and pasta, in particular. Lisa informs us that food is most made of moisture, so to keep things looking nice and fresh; you need to keep them moist. Add color for interest but try to keep it natural, Lisa advises.
