Gregory Thompson makes magic with his weather photography, capturing amazing images of clouds, nature, and weather events. With his photographic artistry, he specializes in skyscapes. Greg is an Atmospheric Scientist working at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado. Greg combines his knowledge of weather with a fascination of nature photography. In his spare time, he takes such photos as storm clouds and snowflakes. His creative abilities with photography enable viewers to share in the wonder of nature.

Students can learn much for Greg Thompson. He is a big believer in practice, practice and more practice. After that comes reading and taking classes to learn more about techniques. Greg is also a big believer that you have to get out into nature to appreciate it – whether you are photographing a scene or producing a sketch. He suggests driving less and walking more. He believes in spending time outside no matter the weather. Greg also suggests looking at details constantly surrounding you, such as frost patters, flower petal structure, insect colors, and more!
