Abrakadoodle Educational Director, Dawna Kelly, was featured in a Black Enterprise Magazine article about recession-resistent businesses. The article that included a half page photo of Dawna and students, as well as an interview. Dawna, a former productivity analyst for Microsoft, runs the Abrakadoodle program in the Detroit area with her husband, Al. They were attracted to Abrakadoodle’s quality art educational program and the opportunity to inspire children. Dawna really enjoys seeing the "sparkle in kid’s eyes" when they create their own unique artwork! Launched in May of 2007, the Kellys won Abrakadoodle's "Rising Splat" Award for their outstanding first year performance. With school budget cuts and an emphasis on creativity education, they see a continued growing need for Abrakadoodle art education programming.
